Leading Italian coffee brand, Lavazza, has teamed up with Arsenal FC to offer young football fans the opportunity to achieve what most people can only dream of – to play football at Emirates Stadium, the home of Arsenal FC.
Lavazza, which is the official coffee partner of Arsenal, hosted a tournament between teams from local North London communities. The event is part of Arsenal FC and Lavazza’s Learn to Dream project, which aims to inspire and motivate local youth with an array of engaging activities. Learn to Dream is driven by a joint commitment, by Lavazza and Arsenal, to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and inspired in particular by Goal number 8, which seeks to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
The event was organised with the support of Arsenal in the Community, whose Development Coordinator, Dean Miller, said: “We love working with the club partners to make such initiatives possible for the people in our local community. It is a great way of giving back to them and we are lucky to be the ones making it all happen. These are moments that we hope will inspire and fuel them to dream big, because anything is possible, even playing on our pitch.”
Jen Beattie, Player of the Arsenal Women Team was on hand to inspire the players. The Scotland international said: “Playing at Emirates Stadium is always something special and I hope these young people find it as empowering and inspirational as we do.
“It’s beautiful seeing football provide them with an opportunity to enjoy such a special experience and I am proud to represent the Arsenal Women’s team in this Lavazza and Arsenal initiative.”
