A new range of target games has been launched to help owners of multi-use games areas (MUGAs), Playzones and ball courts to fully make use of their available spaces.

The new Corner Skills games will utilise available space, such as corners and other “dead spaces”, within play areas and ballcourts.

Created by sports and active play specialist, Play Innovation – in collaboration with sports coaches and young people – the new Corner Skills games will encourage children to get active in creative ways.

The selection of games, ranging from noughts and crosses to cricket and target games, inspire children to be physically active and also encourage them to use their imagination to create their own versions of how to play the games.

Marco Boi, founder of Play Innovation – a SAPCA member company – said: “Too often, we saw amazing MUGAs, Playzones and ball courts being under-utilised. During busy times, children would be standing around, waiting their turn to take part in activities.

“With Corner Skills, facility owners and operators can add entirely new activity areas and opportunities for sport and exercise to their sport and play areas – without huge investment or major construction works.”

The Corner Skills panels are manufactured using heavy duty HDPE and steel fixing brackets – making them easy to attach to practically any fence or wall. Using bright, inspiring colours, the 2400mm x 600mm panels have also been designed to look great in any space. For more information, visit the Play Innovation website.
